Here is the next vehicle for the Armourfast D-Day Group build.
The Churchill AVRE was released by company Matchbox some 100years ago, as I recall.
Re-Released by Revell the Churchill is still a nice vehicle for wargamers and beginners of scale modelling.
Build this tank mostly out of the box with some stowage and netting in the back. The modell was brush painted with Tamiya colours. I add a slight pin wash with Vallejo inks. Metallic effects were done with a sharp but extremly soft pencil. I used the in-box decals for 5th. Assault Regiment.

Was a big fan of the late 1990ties PC game "Commandos". Truely enjoyed this invisible force of "men" sneaking around. Well shame on me - but I never noticed Comp. Caesar´s fantastic set of British Commandos. It is by far the best Commandos set around in the world of braille scale.
Sculpting here is perfectly done. Hope to do more of them.

Here is the second batch for my British Airborne group. The single figure is from a never Italeri set while four other figures are from the quite old ESCI/Italeri range. Still lovely figures with dramatic poses. I am also quite pleased with the single figure. God job by Italeri here.
Would call these group ready for engagement. Eleven men on six bases plus anti-tank weapons should make up a powerfull force. But one question is open. Same question as in June 44: Can these men take and hold two bridges until reserves arrive?

This one here are the British Airbone men that assaulted the River Orne / Caen Chanel bridge installments on early 6 June 44. All figures are from the Italeri / Esci range. Did these men for the recent Armourfast D-Day Group build but hope to see them in a wargaming session some day.
Five more figures will come within the next days.

We had a stormy plus rainy weekend which is quite strange for June. No chance for cycling nor gardening. Thought it was a rainy, stormy and cold as in June 44.
Got back to the workbench with some British lend-lease armour.
This one here is my rendition of Dragon's Sherman V. This Sherman is with 13th / 18th Royal Hussars a unit that saw intense d-day fighting in the Sword, Quistreham, Ranville sector. Saw many pictures of Hussars vehicles but none with operation number "12". Please take this as "what if" - a wargaming model.
This Dragon version of the M4A4 is just fantastic, A real pleasure to work with.
Still work in progress.
